The official trailer for the upcoming Judy Garland movie has been released and it looks emotional.
Renée Zellweger stars as the iconic actress in Rupert Goold's upcoming musical drama Judy, and tells the story of Garland during the final year of the legendary singer, actress and gay icon's life, and will include beloved tracks including 'Over the Rainbow'.
Although the film was not endorsed by Garland’s daughter Liza Minnelli, we cannot wait to see the film and judging from the trailer, it is going to be a sad one.
Just like Chicago, Zellweger sings in the upcoming movie and we hear some of her famous tracks but it focuses more on her relationship with her children and her career.
Based on the Olivier and Tony nominated 2012 Broadway play End of the Rainbow, Judy will also delve into Garland's relationship with fifth husband and nightclub manager Mickey Deans (played by American Horror Story's Finn Whittrock), who she married in March 1969 just three months before her death at 47 from an accidental barbiturate overdose.
The film also stars Jessie Buckley, Rufus Sewell, and Michael Gambon.
Judy is set to hit cinemas in the US on 27 September and in the UK on 4 October. Check out the official trailer below:
