Billy Eichner’s Bros has added another two queer stars to its already LGBTQ star-studded cast.
Saturday Night Live’s (SNL) Bowen Yang and Broadway darling Harvey Fierstein have joined the cast of Hollywood’s first studio-produced gay rom-com.
The film, written, produced, and starring Eichner is currently filming and set to be released in August 2022. It’s being produced by comedy icon Judd Apatow and Universal Studios.
Yang and Fierstein join a predominantly LGBTQ principle cast which also features, in addition to Eichner in the lead role: Luke MacFarlane (Brothers and Sisters) as Eichner’s love interest, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 winner Symone, Ts Madison of The Ts Madison Experience, Miss Lawrence, a gender non-conforming entertainer (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), Guillermo Diaz (Weeds) and Guy Branum, who has written for Eichner’s Billy on the Street.
Celebrating the new additions, Eichner posted on Instagram: "LEGENDS ONLY! BOWEN YANG and HARVEY FIERSTEIN in BROS!!! This is going to be EPIC!!! I’m a lucky man."

Bros will focus on two gay men (Eichner and MacFarlane) with commitment issues attempting to start a relationship.
Variety broke the news regarding the pair’s casting. Yang of course is well known for his hilarious roles on SNL, which won him a historic Emmy nomination earlier this year. He’s also the co-host of the Las Culturalistas podcast.
Meanwhile, Fierstein is perhaps best known for his work on the Great White Way, winning a Tony for playing Edna Turnblad in Hairspray! He’s also known for roles in films such as Mrs. Doubtfire and Independence Day.
The Attitude December issue is out now.
