Max Parker has reportedly quit his role as Luke Posner in ITV soap Emmerdale.
The actor first joined the show in 2019. His departure was first reported by The Sun yesterday.
According to the outlet, Luke's exit storyline will follow him being outed to his fellow Yorkshire villagers as gay; Max himself came out publicly in an interview with Attitude last December.
"There’s always a chance he could return"
A source told the publication: “Max was never going to stay on the soap for years. He’s ambitious and a talented guy - he’s already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future.
“But never say never - there’s always a chance he could return one day.”

Luke's exit also follows the reveal of his involvement in the death of his brother Lee, who was played by Max's real-life boyfriend Kris Mochrie [above, right], whom he met on the show.
Recalling how they connected, Max told Attitude in last year's interview: “I didn’t know he was gay but I remember thinking he’s very handsome.
“It was later I thought ‘I’ve never done Tinder so I’ll have a go’, so I went on Tinder and I saw him pop up, and I was like ‘OK this is a sign’ – so I made the first move by sending a message on Instagram.”
Attitude has approached ITV and reps for Max for comment.
The Attitude July issue is out now.
