In light of the government's new plan to ban 'conversion' therapy for gay, lesbian and bisexual people, but not for trans people, we as a community and our allies need to stand up for our trans siblings.
Last week it was leaked that the government was dropping its long-promised plans to ban the abhorrent practice of 'conversion therapy'. They then backtracked given the outrage but decided to exclude trans people.
In simple terms: This. Is. Not. Okay.
Not only are they going back on their word - this ban was first promised for all LGBTQ people in 2018 by Theresa May, and has been committed to numerous times since - but they are trying to create a divide within the community.
The government has said it intends to carry out "separate work" on trans 'conversion' therapy.

So far it has passed 10,000 signatures, which requires a government response. At the time of writing, this had yet to appear.
At 100,000 signatures the matter has to be debated in Parliament.
